The Sea Clown, Triopha catalinae, lives in the Pacific Ocean from Alaska to Baja California, and is also found in Japan and Korea. It feeds on bryozoans (colonial invertebrates that grow like coral). They lay beautiful pale pink ribbons of eggs. The bumpy protrusions all over its body are called cerata, and in many nudibranchs they contain stinging nematocysts obtained by feeding on hydroids and other stinging creatures.
