The Opalescent Nudibranch, Hermissenda opalescens, is found from Northern California down to Baja California. Like many nudibranchs it can be found in tidepools and rocky shores. This species has been used as a ‘model organism’ in labs to learn about how animals form memories, as well as to learn more about nudibranch reproduction. It will feed on a variety of marine animals, even smaller nudibranchs.
