Flabellinopsis iodinea, the Spanish Shawl, lives on the West Coast from Northern California down to Baja California, as well as the Galapagos islands. This flamboyant aeolid nudibranch can ‘swim’ by twisting and turning its body in the water. It feeds on the polyps of the coral-like hydroid Eudendrium ramosum, which colors the nudibranch’s rhinophores (which look like antenna) a bright red.
